Some interesting fragments

This year I was given an extraordinary gift by a private collector who I had helped, many years ago, to identify manuscript fragments in his collection. The fragments are now in my studio and I am slowly working through them. Fragments have become a hot topic in recent years as the collaborative working encouraged by digital technology allows us to piece manuscripts back together across different locations and to identify content through searching for unique word combinations. The oldest fragment seems to be from the mid 1100s, it is a piece of the Pauline epistles, just where 2 Colossians ends and Galatians begins, it contains the gloss of Anselm of Laon (1050-1117). The script is a protogothic minuscule, probably written in England or Northern France.
