Bad news wrapped in protein
‘Bad news wrapped in protein’ pencil on thin Japanese paper. This was made for a Welcome Trust exhibition and conference on Viruses at St John’s College Oxford in 2011. I took a rounded triangular shape found in some viral structures and spontaneously wrote this piece with that structure duplicating itself through the letters. It is a calligraphic understanding of how shapes can transform.
